Rafael Nadal qualified second-seeded quarter-finals in the men's singles championship of the U.S. Open on Monday.

In the fourth round of the last Grand Slam this year, Nadal beat Germany's Philipp Kohlschreiber 22 seed in three sets against one set by 6-7, 6-4, 6-3, 6-1.

And ascended the Spanish fourth seed David Ferrer also to the quarter-finals by beating Serbian Janko Tipsarevic 18 seed 7-6, 3-6, 7-5, 7-6.

And let Roger Federer seventh tournament after losing to 19th seed Tommy Robredo 7-6, 6-3, 6-4.
